Introduction
PVC inherently possesses good flame retardancy and self-extinguishing properties. However, as wire and cable constructions often incorporate other combined materials (such as HDPE, TPE, etc.) or must meet higher flame resistance standards, adding suitable additives becomes necessary.
Among these, combining inorganic flame retardants with antimony trioxide (Sb₂O₃) is most widely practiced, achieving high flame-retardant performance with rapid char formation.
