BTA
- Chemical Structure: 1,2,3-Benzotriazole
- Molecular Formula: C₆H₅N₃
- CAS No.:95-14-7
- Molecular Weight: 119
- Purity: ≥99.8%
- pH Value: 5–6
Introduction
- Appearance: White needle-like crystals, slightly soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, benzene, chloroform, and dimethylformamide (DMF).
- Applications: Used in rust inhibitors, antifreeze agents, oil-based antioxidants (including lubricants, hydraulic oils, brake fluids, and transformer oils), emulsifiers, water stabilizers, UV or antistatic additives for polyester and other polymer materials, and metal corrosion inhibitors.
- Mechanism: BTA forms covalent and coordination bonds with copper atoms, providing excellent corrosion inhibition. It offers effective protection for non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, and their alloys by forming multilayer protective films on the surface, preventing redox reactions
